25-26 Pioneer Pride Classic
The annual Pioneer Pride Classic kicked off the 2025–26 athletic season with performances, guest speakers, and a celebration of last year’s academic and athletic achievements across all Pioneer sports teams.

The Lampeter-Strasburg community came together on August 21 for the annual Pioneer Pride Classic, a tradition that marks the start of a new athletic season. The evening featured spirited performances by the LSHS marching band and varsity cheerleaders, as well as words of encouragement from 2025 Teacher of the Year Kim Smith, who shared her “#5." Senior Colin Shelley and Athletic Director Branden Lippy also addressed the assembled athletes and crowd. The event was emceed by teacher Matt Shockey along with Varsity Club officers Mitchell Swarr and Sophia Labrecque, setting the stage for the introduction of athletes and coaches from every team.
The Classic also highlighted the district’s athletic accomplishments from the 2024–25 school year, where the Pioneers posted a combined record of 479-254-25, a 65% overall winning percentage.
Athletic Highlights by Sport - 2024-2025

Cross Country – Boys finished 5th in Section 2, Girls 2nd. Olivia Magagna earned District silver, placed 7th at States, and was named L-L League Runner of the Year.

Field Hockey – Placed 5th in Section 2, reached District 3 playoffs, with multiple athletes named league all-stars.

Football – Finished with the first 10-0 regular season in school history, won the Section 4 and District 3 4A Championships, and reached the PIAA State Championship game.

Golf – Went undefeated for the fifth straight season and claimed another Section 3 Championship.

Boys Soccer – Won the Section 3 title, reached the District 3 semifinals, and advanced to the PIAA State Tournament.

Girls Soccer – Won the Section 3 title and qualified for the District 3 playoffs.

Girls Tennis – Six athletes competed in the L-L League Flight Tournament.

Girls Volleyball – Finished 4th in Section 2, advanced to District 3 playoffs, with Megan Platt named Section MVP.

Boys Basketball – Qualified for District and State tournaments; Chase Smucker became the program’s all-time leading scorer with points.

Girls Basketball – Qualified for District 3 playoffs and featured multiple league all-stars and postseason honors.

Bowling – Captured the Section 3 Championship for the third consecutive year.

Swimming – Sent multiple athletes to Districts, where the girls placed 6th overall and several relay teams medaled.

Boys Wrestling – Earned league tournament placements and numerous Academic All-Star honors.

Girls Wrestling – Won their first-ever team dual match and had individual district and regional qualifiers.

Baseball – Won the District 3 5A Championship and advanced to the PIAA State semifinals.

Boys Lacrosse – Claimed the Section 2 Championship and qualified for both District and State playoffs.

Girls Lacrosse – Placed 3rd in Section 2 with several athletes named L-L League All-Stars.

Softball – Advanced to District 3 quarterfinals with four players earning First Team All-Star recognition.

Boys Tennis – Finished 3rd in Section 2; doubles team of Trevor Groff and Evan Girdharry reached the league semifinals.

Track & Field – Earned multiple league medals, district qualifications, and a State appearance by Olivia Magagna in the 3200m.
