Welcome (or welcome back) to Lampeter-Strasburg School District! We’re so excited to start the new school year! Here are some important new things happening on campus this year:
Early Childhood Center Opens
The District’s newest school building opens to students this week! The Lampeter-Strasburg Early Childhood Center will be the home of kindergarten, the School Age Child Care (SACC) administrative offices and SACC for kindergartners, the Early Childhood program, and two Pre-K Counts classes through a partnership with Owl Hill Learning Academy.
First Day of School for Kindergarten
The first day of school for students in grades 1-12 is Wednesday, August 21, but the first day for kindergartners is Thursday, August 22. This is a change from previous years, as kindergartners start a day later than the rest of the students.
Building Schedule Changes
With the addition of a new school building, schedules will change slightly at each school. 2024-2025 school day times are as follows:
Lampeter-Strasburg High School: 7:30 a.m. - 2:40 p.m.
Martin Meylin Middle School: 7:30 a.m. - 2:40 p.m.
Hans Herr Elementary School: 9:05 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Lampeter Elementary School: 8:50 a.m. - 3:20 p.m.
Lampeter-Strasburg Early Childhood Center - AM Kindergarten - 8:45 - 11:25 a.m.PM Kindergarten - 12:35 - 3:15 p.m.
The L-S High School bell schedule and Martin Meylin Middle School bell schedule also have changed.
Martin Meylin Office Location
Renovations to Martin Meylin have necessitated the relocation of the school’s office for the upcoming school year. The office’s new location is on the same side of the building, but the entrance is near the corner closest to Hans Herr Elementary School. Please look for signs when visiting the office.
High School Traffic Pattern
The traffic pattern during drop-off and pick-up times is changing this year to create a more efficient daily process. Separate entrances have been identified for parent drop-off (red arrows) and for students (yellow arrows) who will be parking on campus. High school staff will be on hand to assist with the transition during the first few days of school. The changes will not affect school bus patterns.
New Assistant Principal at L-S High School
Lampeter-Strasburg High School welcomes Mr. Brandon Heuyard as its new assistant principal. Heuyard comes to L-S from the School District of Lancaster, where he was employed as an elementary school assistant principal.
